Per Sjögren was the Ambassador of Sweden to Canada from 2014 to 2018. In his previous position he was Deputy Director- General and Head of Department for International Law and Human Rights at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Stockholm. From 2004 to 2010 he served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe. Between 1999 and 2004 he was the Director-General for Migration and Asylum policy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Among his previous diplomatic assignments, Mr. Sjögren has server in Washington and at the Swedish mission to the United Nations in Geneva. Mr. Sjögren has a Bachelor of Law degree specializing in International Law from Uppsala University, Sweden.
