The Canadian Global Affairs Institute (www.cgai.ca) is an independent Canadian international policy think tank based in Calgary and Ottawa. Our mission is to identify Canadian global interests and promote more active and effective international involvement through rigorous strategic and policy analysis and to help inform Canadians on the connection between international affairs and a secure and prosperous Canada. The Canadian Global Affairs Institute Ottawa office is focused on stakeholder outreach and knowledge mobilization.
The Digital Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Canadian Global Affairs Institute’s online presence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: social media communications, email communications and outreach, podcast production and editing, the management of the CGAI website, ad-hoc graphic design projects, and database management. In addition, the Digital Coordinator is responsible for managing the Institute’s broader online presence, while also assisting in event planning and preparation, as well as various ad-hoc research projects as assigned.
Office Location: Byward Market, Ottawa
Start Date: August 1, 2019
Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 depending upon experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:
- Management of the Institute’s social media networks
- Production and administration of the CGAI Podcast Network
- The development of Institute email communications and outreach
- Graphic design
- Management and coordination of the CGAI website
- Managing the Institute’s broader online presence
- CGAI database management
- Assisting in event preparation
- Other duties as assigned
Desirable Skills:
- Good initiative and judgement
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 1-2 years experience in a digitally-focused communications role, or similar role
- Competence and understanding of social media and other Internet-based communication methods
- Podcasting experience is a strong asset
- Some graphic design experience is an asset
- Database management experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
