Synopsis
On October 25th, 2022, the Canadian Global Affairs Institute hosted a one-day conference to discuss the current challenges to defence procurement in Canada as the government pursues major capital programs. Rebuilding the industrial base, overcoming labour shortage, implementing NORAD modernization, and meeting socio-economic requirements. The war in Ukraine, the need to reconstitute the Canadian Armed Forces, and supply chain issues served as a backdrop for this conversation.
