Le Yémen en guerre

Dans ce nouvel épisode de Conseils de sécurité, Sarah-Myriam parle avec Thomas de son nouveau livre, "Le Yémen en guerre", publié récemment aux Presses de l'Université de Montréal. Il explore les causes et les conséquences de la guerre qui fait rage au Yémen depuis 2015. Il analyse en particulier l’internationalisation de cette guerre, ou comment des puissances extérieures ont profité de la faiblesse de l’état central pour faire du pays un théâtre de leurs affrontements. Thomas explique en quoi il s'agissait, initialement d’un conflit domestique entre le mouvement houthiste et le gouvernement central. Mais ce conflit s'est internationalisé en 2015 lorsque l’Arabie saoudite et ses partenaires interviennent afin de contrer les Houthistes, eux-mêmes proches de l’Iran.
