WPC Energy Canada - the Canadian Global Affairs Institute Partnership

Partnership between WPC Energy Canada and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute

WPC Energy Canada is excited to announce our entry into a partnership with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute (CGAI). The partnership brings together two leading authorities of expertise on issues of energy security, global competitiveness and Canada’s role on the international energy stage.

The intent is to establish a strategic partnership between two organizations focused on advancing informed, non-partisan dialogue on Canada’s role as a global energy superpower. CGAI is one of Canada’s leading think-tanks focused on global affairs, geopolitics, energy, defence and security. There is strong alignment between CGAI’s mandate and WPC Energy Canada’s objective of elevating Canada’s role in global energy conversations.

About the Canadian Global Affairs Institute

Established in 2001, CGAI is Canada’s pre-eminent source of expertise on global affairs. Its fellows and advisors spark impassioned nationwide discussions and debates designed to help Canadians better understand our role on the world stage. Based in Calgary and Ottawa, the Canadian Global Affairs Institute is a sought-after thought leader and publishes extensively on defence, diplomacy, trade, resources and geopolitics.

About WPC Energy Canada

Since 1957 WPC Energy Canada has been an active member of WPC Energy. Our mission is to be a trusted, inclusive source of information for people and organizations to gain a realistic understanding of what is required for an effective energy transformation as we uphold our role as a responsible source of energy globally. We provide a platform for informed discussions and inclusive, constructive debate based on verifiable facts and data.

The Synergistic Relationship

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration to enable a forward-looking partnership designed to further evidence-based and non-partisan dialogue around Canada’s role and opportunities in the global energy sector. Together, CGAI and WPC Energy Canada seek to facilitate a meaningful platform where policymakers, industry leaders, academics and international stakeholders can constructively engage at the intersection of complex energy, geopolitical, trade and security issues.

The Road Forward

This agreement means we will continue to offer best-in-class thought leadership, adding value to our members and event attendees. It also means we can expand our work in addressing the issues facing Canada’s energy sector and our contribution to the world.

Canada’s energy sector is at a pivotal moment, with the Government of Canada continuing to ramp up its support behind it with various pipeline, nuclear, clean tech and LNG announcements. Working with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, WPC Energy Canada is committed to keep delivering the quality content and opportunities that members have come to expect while building on these recent federal approvals and major project announcements.
