SYNOPSIS
Join CGAI for the 2025 Annual Speaker Dinner with Mick Ryan on October 30th, 2025 to discuss some of the strategic perils that democracies are currently facing, including societal, technological and authoritarian aggression, and the implications of these perils for international competition and war.
Michael (Mick) Barry Ryan is a former Major General of the Australian Army and a graduate from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and the U.S. Marine Corps University Command and Staff College and School of Advanced Warfighting. He has commanded at platoon, squadron, regiment, task force, and brigade level, and, after completing 35 years with the Australian Army, transitioned to the Army Reserve in 2022.
Ryan is also the esteemed author of several books on modern conflict, including:
- War Transformed: The Future of Twenty-First-Century Great Power Competition and Conflict
- White Sun War: The Campaign for Taiwan, and most recently
- The War for Ukraine: Strategy and Adaptation Under Fire
