SYNOPSIS
This roundtable discussion will discuss a new paper on the Zeitenwende, co-authored by our guest speakers, which reflects a social democratic take on the path forward and the need for new orientation towards Russian aggression. Opening remarks will be provided by Dr. Joan DeBardeleben, Chancellor’s Professor; Co-Director, Centre for European Studies. She is a professor in the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, and in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University. She is founder, former Director, and currently Co-Director of Carleton’s Centre for European Studies (CES), a Carleton University Research Centre focusing on European affairs.
The panel will be moderated by Charlotte Duval-Lantoine, the Vice President, Ottawa Operations and a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, and Executive Director and Gender Advisor of our MINDS Collaborative Network Triple Helix. She published her MA research on toxic leadership and gender integration in the Canadian military in 2022. The resulting book, The Ones We Let Down, was named among The Hill Times' Best Books of 2022.
