Monica Gattinger is Director of the Institute for Science, Society and Policy, Full Professor at the School of Political Studies and Founder/Chair of Positive Energy at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Gattinger is an award-winning researcher and highly sought-after speaker, adviser and media commentator in the energy and arts/cultural policy sectors. Her innovative research programme convenes business, government, Indigenous, civil society and academic leaders to address complex policy, regulatory and governance challenges. She has published widely in the energy and arts/cultural policy fields, with a focus on strengthening decision-making in the context of fast-past technological change and markets, changing social values, and lower levels of trust in governments, industry, science and expertise. Gattinger is Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, board member of the Clean Resource Innovation Network, and serves on advisory committees for Énergir, the Institute on Governance, the National Research Council Canada, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, the Ontario Energy Board, the Ottawa Science Policy Network and the University of Calgary. She Chairs the Editorial Board of the University of Ottawa Press and is a columnist for JWN Energy’s Daily Oil Bulletin. Monica received the 2020 Clean50 Award for her thought leadership in the energy sector. She holds a Ph.D. in public policy from Carleton University.

Monica Gattinger est directrice de l’Institut de recherche sur la science, la société et la politique publique, professeure titulaire à l’École d’études politiques et présidente/fondateure d’Énergie positive à l’Université d’Ottawa. Ses recherches primées, axées sur les milieux énergétiques et culturels/artistiques, font d’elle une conférencière, conseillère et commentatrice de renommée au Canada comme à l’étranger. Son programme de recherche novateur rassemble des hauts cadres des secteurs privé, public, autochtone, à but non lucratif et scientifique afin de résoudre des défis complexes en matière de politiques, réglementation et gouvernance. Elle compte plusieurs publications à son actif dans les domaines énergétiques et artistiques / culturelles, avec un accent sur les façons de renforcer la prise de décisions dans un contexte de changements technologiques et économiques rapides, de transformations de valeurs sociétales et de mutations de la confiance du public dans les gouvernements, l’industrie, la science et l’expertise. La docteure Gattinger est Fellow au Canadian Global Affairs Institute, membre du conseil d’administration du Clean Resource Innovation Network, et membre de comités consultatifs de la Commission de l’énergie de l’Ontario, du Conseil national de recherches Canada, d’Énergir, de l’Institut sur la gouvernance, d’Ottawa Science Policy Network, de la Société de gestion des déchets nucléaires et de l’Université de Calgary. Elle est présidente du comité éditorial des Presses de l’Université d’Ottawa et est chroniqueuse au Daily Oil Bulletin de JWN Energy. Monica a reçu le prix 2020 Clean50 pour son leadership intellectuel dans le domaine de l’énergie. Elle est titulaire d’un doctorat en politiques publiques de l’Université Carleton.
