The Canadian Global Affairs Institute was delighted to welcome Brad Wall to our Calgary Speaker Dinner. Mr. Wall was joined by CGAI President Kelly Ogle to discuss the international and domestic factors affecting the industrial competitiveness of Western Canada’s natural resources.
Former premier of Saskatchewan (2007-2018) and leader of the Saskatchewan Party (2004-2018). Under Mr. Wall’s leadership his government implemented an ambitious goal-oriented growth plan focused on competitive taxes, effective but efficient regulations, balanced labour laws, strategic infrastructure investment, diversification through innovation, and international engagement and export promotion. By the end of Wall’s tenure there were 60,000 more jobs in Saskatchewan, 160,000 more people, a 46% increase in exports including an 84% increase in merchandise exports, and a 123% increase in wholesale trade.
