Luiza Ch. Savage is the executive editor for growth at POLITICO where she drives the development of new editorial products that serve audiences in Washington, the states and globally - including newsletters, thought leadership and multi-media formats. She oversees the audio, video and live event content teams, and leads the expansion of key franchises across platforms. She created POLITICO Canada to deliver political reporting from Ottawa and established a policy intelligence subscription service for Canadian policy professionals. Luiza hosted the Global Translations podcast which unpacked big global challenges in trade, technology, climate, and critical resources. She is a Jefferson Fellow at the East-West Center.

Based in Washington, DC, since 2003, Luiza spent a decade as the U.S. correspondent for Maclean's magazine, covering American politics and Canada-U.S. relations. She hosted and produced two documentaries for Canada's CPAC TV: "Pipeline Politics," about the Keystone XL pipeline saga, and "The Billionaire and the Bridge," about the diplomatic battle to rebuild a key North American trade crossing. She has been a reporter for The New York Sun, The National Post, and The Ottawa Citizen, and a frequent commentator for Canadian TV and radio.

Luiza was born in Poland and grew up in Calgary and Ottawa. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University and a master's degree from Yale Law School, where she was a Knight Foundation Journalism Fellow. She lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband, Charlie Savage, a Washington correspondent for The New York Times, and their two sons.
