Brett Boudreau served in the Canadian Armed Forces for nearly 30 years, mostly in public affairs, including four assignments as a colonel at Defence Headquarters Ottawa, NATO HQ Brussels, Privy Council Office, and the CDS Office. He is principal consultant at Veritas Strategic Communications, helping clients integrate policy, operations and narrative in their operations and activities.
Publications to his name include the monograph, "Understanding Defence Research and Capability Needs to Deter and Limit Adversary Disinformation" (DRDC, 2023); the monograph "The Rise and Fall of Military Strategic Communications at National Defence 2015-2021" (CGAI, 2022); the book "We Have Met the Enemy And He Is Us" (NATO, 2016) examining strategic communications during the NATO-led 2002-2014 ISAF mission; and the book chapter "NATO Information Campaigns in Afghanistan 2003-2021" focused on the Resolute Support Mission, in the book Info Ops: From World War 1 to the Twitter Era.
He is a graduate of the NATO Defence College senior course, and holds an Honours B.A. (Political Science), and an M.A. (Public Administration).
