In this episode of The Global Exchange, Colin Robertson discusses the security implications of the first 100 Days of the Biden Presidency with CGAI Fellows Sarah Goldfeder, Luiza Ch. Savage, and Dr. Laurie Trautman.
This episode is from a webinar, part of a series on American security challenges funded the United States Department of State. The goal of the program is to improve Canadian understanding of American policy perspective in order to harness better communication and coordination between the two neighbouring countries.
Participant Biographies:
- Sarah Goldfeder is a government relations and strategic policy professional with experience in both government and the private sector. She provides high-level insight on the strategies of engagement with both the U.S. and Canadian governments, including how the two countries work together on important issues.
- Dr. Laurie Trautman is the Director of the Border Policy Research Institute at Western Washington University. She engages in a range of research on the Canada – U.S. border, particularly in the Cascadia region of Washington State – British Columbia. Topics include trade, transportation, human mobility, and security.
- Luiza Ch. Savage is executive director for editorial initiatives at POLITICO, a global news organization focused on politics and policy. She is responsible for building journalism that connects the dots between capitals of influence and oversees new franchises such as Global Translations and China Watcher. She created POLITICO Canada to deliver political reporting from Ottawa and established a policy intelligence subscription service for Canadian policy professionals. She also oversees POLITICO’s audio, video, and live journalism platforms.
