Brett Boudreau served in the Canadian Armed Forces for nearly 30 years, including in the top military public affairs jobs in Canada and in NATO HQ Brussels, retiring as a colonel. He is principal consultant at Veritas Strategic Communications, a boutique agency specializing in the integration and application of policy, operations and narrative regarding defence, security and whole-of-Government operations and activities. He is a graduate of the NATO Defence College senior course, and holds an Honours B.A. (Political Science), and an M.A. (Public Administration). In 2016, NATO published his book, "We Have Met the Enemy And He Is Us", an examination of the strategic communications campaign during the NATO-led ISAF mission, (2003-2014). His book chapter, "NATO Information Campaigns in Afghanistan 2003-2021" focused on the Resolute Support Mission, was published in Info Ops: From World War 1 to the Twitter Era. In 2022, the CGAI published his monograph, "The Rise and Fall of Military Strategic Communications at National Defence 2015-2021."
