Goods & Services Offered
From time to time Global Affairs will offer tickets to events, papers and books for sale and seek donations to support its research and education programs. The net proceeds from these activities are used to advance the aims and objectives of the Institute. (Charity Registration #87982 7913RR0001)
Currency of Transaction
All transactions will be in Canadian funds.

Collection of Information
Global Affairs does not collect personally identifiable information from individuals through the website unless this information is provided voluntarily and knowingly (such as by subscribing for our electronic newsletter or research papers, registering for our events, or by making a donation). Most of Global Affairs’s publications are available on our website do not require any personal information from you to access these materials.
The information collected is limited to the information required to process the subscription or registration request, or to process a donation. The information collected for these purposes includes email addresses, names, addresses, telephone number, fax number and credit card information, as applicable.
Where individuals use our website to make a donation or register for an event, their credit card payment is handled by an outside credit card processing company with whom Global Affairs has a contractual arrangement. Global Affairs does not collect or see credit card information when we process an online donation.
Use of Personal Information
The personal information you provide Global Affairs is used only to send publications and notifications of upcoming events to our subscribers.
Under no circumstances will Global Affairs disclose, rent, sell, barter or share the personal information we collect from subscribers, sponsors or donors unless required by law.
Safeguarding your Information
Any personal information that you share with Global Affairs is kept physically and electronically separate with access limited to staff that require it to perform necessary job functions. We use a firewall to protect our computer files.
Global Affairs ensures that the company which processes online credit card payments from our website has in place similar privacy protections and that it does not use your personal information for any purposes other than processing your online credit card payment.
Global Affairs retains your personal information for only as long as Global Affairs may reasonably need the information to provide requested services to you, to respond to complaints or inquiries, and to fulfill auditing and other legal requirements.
You have a right, subject to certain statutory exceptions, to review the personal information we have collected about you and to have any errors in your personal information corrected. Global Affairs will respond to your written inquiry in a reasonable period of time and in any event within thirty days unless an extension is required. You may need to provide sufficient information to allow Global Affairs to respond to your request.
Changes to Privacy Statement
Global Affairs reserves the right to make minor modifications to this Privacy Statement in the interest of further enhancing the protection of personal information. If any substantial changes are made, Global Affairs will post a notice on its website.
If you receive publications or notifications from us which you no longer wish to receive you have a right at any time to request that we remove your name from our mailing list. Refunds will be available up to one week in advance of the date for a particular event. Your seat is transferable up to eight (8) hours-notice prior to an event. Global Affairs is pleased to offer your seat to a University of Calgary student with 24 hours-notice prior to an event.
Books and research papers are non-refundable.
No refunds are available on donations.
